Mid-and long-term agreements and planning is crucial for farms and companies to be able to plan and improve their practices, invest in sustainable agriculture. We see that in the last years the pressure is growing, commitments have been made, in many cases without the involvement of the affected people and companies. We have a general lack of long term agreements which lead to volatile prices, risking that we lose good farmers. Our goal is to give an overview on factors that influence the volatility of soy and how this impacts the transition towards a sustainable soy supply chain. With contributions from among others Solidaridad.
